Misty Forest Watercolor WorkshopArt & Craft

Oct. 17, 2020, 3:30 p.m.
This event will be held online.

Watercolours are fluid and delicate. They are an often unpredictable medium to work with which gives room for uniqueness and individuality in each and every painting. Watercolours can be tricky, but once you get the hang of it and allow it enough freedom to take its course on paper, it can create something truly magical as these paints glisten and shimmer on paper.

Come explore this medium with us and learn some great techniques to master this art form, all while painting a beautiful Misty Forest!

What you will learn:
- Basics of working with watercolours
- Blending colours in this medium
- Technique of wet-on-wet (adding wash)
- Using colour tones
- Light and shadows
- Maintaining the balance between the amount of colour, water, and brush pressure on the paper surface
- Adding the first and second layers
- Splattering of the stars
- Forming pine tree silhouettes with paintbrushes as well as pens

About the Artist:
Hemali is a Bangalore-based artist whose forte is Urban Sketching. While exploring the medium during her travels, she chose to sketch out the scenes that caught her eye instead of clicking their pictures. She believes that her sketchbook allows her to slow down and experience a place in a whole new way. And thus began her Travel Sketching Journal in which she documented her travels using art. She has taught Urban Sketching for the past 2 years now and has conducted several art workshops to infuse her love for travel and art into other willing students.
