Dialogues with Cinema: Best of 2020

Come and join us for this month's meet-up on the best that cinema had to offer for the year 2020. Although we spent a majority of the year in lockdown, we were nonetheless gifted with some great cinematic masterpieces, some popular and some niche. Some of this year's masterpieces include (but are definitely not limited to) Bong Joon Ho's Parasite, Celine Sciamma's Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Robert Egger's The Lighthouse, and of course, Christopher Nolan's Tenet.

Let's discuss the movies you liked and why. The movies that had you raving about the story and the ones that etched a special place in your heart. Let's discuss the movies you had high hopes for, the movies that excited you the most, and which aspects you liked the best, be it Direction, Acting, Background Scores or Screenplay.

Let's meet online on Saturday, 26th December, and discuss, in-depth, the hits and misses (but mostly the hits) of this unforgettable year.

When: 7-9 p.m., Saturday, 26th December 2020
Where: Online on Zoom

(P.S: This session will also be broadcasted live on YouTube on the Dialogues channel so do ask all cinema-lovers you know to tune in!)

I stared at him. "We're in a creepy dungeon. There's a chance I might die in the next few hours. You are going to die in the next few hours. And if you had one wish, it would be to catch a movie?”― Rachel Hawkins, Demonglass

For our community members, it would be!

Dialogues with Cinema (DWC) is our very own group of cinephiles which meets every 4th Sunday of the month to discuss, debate, deliberate, agree, disagree but most of all enjoy the world of cinema and talk about it. With topics of discussion ranging from particular movies and directors to cinematic styles, this community is highly dramatic and full of Dialogues.
