Bharatanatyam is a classical dance of South India,Training is structured guided by old Indian scriptures namely "Natyashastra," "Abhinaya Darpanam" and "Margam" developed by Tanjaore brothers in 19th century. Training starts from the fundamentals of Bharatanatyam which is 'Adavus' and 'Hastabhinaya'( hand gestures) Which will be combined and developed towards Abhinaya(facial expressions)-the core of dance form. Lessons are structured in the Margam tradition, highly focusing on technical and esthetics of Bharatanatyam. There will also be lessons on Carnatic classical music, which is a integral part of this form of art. A Brief Bio-data Deepa Bhagwat is the only daughter of renowned dance Guru smt.Seema Bhagwat and Pradeep Bhagwat. She started learning learning Bharatanatyam at the age of 5 under the guidance of her mother Seema Bhagwat and completed her Vidwat Proficiency (Final) at the age of 19. She has also completed her senior in Carnatic music and also practicing Nattuvangam. Now She is also studying dance under Guru B.Bhanumati and Parshwanath Upadhye,Bangalore. Accolades and Achievements -MA in Bharatanatyam, Jain university. -Dooradarshan Bangalore ‘B’ Grade artist -On Dec 25th 2016 she did her Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha. -On aug 15th 2012, Govt. of Karnataka has given ‘Keladi Chennamma’ Award for her cultural achievements. -CCRT Scholarship holder. -In 2007 she secured 1st rank for Karnataka in Juniour exam and in 2010 again 1st rank for Karnataka in senior grade exam and completed her vidwat final at the age of 19. -Also performed in many national level prestigious dance Festivals
